Mehmet KAYHAN

Mehmet Kayhan has started his industrial life in a small workshop by making casting patterns in 1950. In 1951 he produced the first workshop type press.

In time, this workshop has turned into a business where the special machines were repaired, and then by changing its place in the 1960s, it became a workshop that replacing truck engines from front to rear. Some agricultural machines have also been designed and manufactured here.

1950s - 1960s

Mehmet Kayhan who created the KAYAHAN brand, started his industrial life by making a model in a small workshop in 1950. Over time, this workshop turned into an enterprise where the first workshop type presses were produced, special machine repairs were made, the engines of the trucks were taken from front to back, and some agricultural machines were designed and manufactured.

1970s

In the 1970s, a wide range of products has been formed in the field of hydraulics; hydraulic press, hydraulic pump, steel construction, mine poles, welded rollers, etc. and also realized their productions. KAYAHAN presses are the first series of workshop type press products in our country. Until 2000, around 10,000 special purpose or workshop type hydraulic presses were produced. Water and fire valves, our company has produced for the first time in Turkey by processing poured. An annual production capacity of 10.000 pieces of these valves in different sizes from 60 mm to 500 mm has been reached.

1980s - 1990s

In the 1980s KONSANTAŞ started to produce 180 tons and 250 tons of pig slag ladle cars that this was the first time for Turkey. At the same time, our company started to produce the first time in Turkey shower desk roles for iron and steel mills continued in production until the end of the 1990s. The 1990s were also the years when hydraulic cylinders were started to be produced for iron and steel factories and the first hydraulic cylinder export (1992) started.

2000s - 2020s

Since 2000, other productions have been abandoned and only hydraulic cylinder production has been focused on. In these years we focused to quality and started to follows ISO 9001 Quality Management System, EN 1090-2 Welding Acceptance, ISO 3834 Welding Management System and TURQUM Product Conformity standards in production. Additionally, we also integrated ISO 27001 Information Security Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System standards requirements to our IMS.

2020s

Today at the point where our company is the largest hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder manufacturing company in Turkey in terms of being able to manufacture the biggest product dimensions. Having the honing capacity of 3 m bore to 23 m stroke, all end-to-end production processes, except for the heat treatment, such as hard chrome plating, honing, deep hole drilling and welding are executed in-house. The company operates in 43.000 m² of which 26.280 m² is closed.

Nowadays,

Our company continues its industrial adventure with ≥80% export volume, an Integrated Management System, having employed more than 200 people. Today, our hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder products manufactured are exported to the European countries, mainly to Austria, Germany, and France. Company has been a leader in heavy duty hydraulic cylinders export in Turkey for many years.

During this time, we started to give more importance to institutionalization and environment friendly production projects such as improving family constitution, applying AS9100 Aerospace Quality Management System standard requirements, ISO 2600 Guidance of Social Responsibility requirements, solar energy investment, and adaptation to digitalizing world.

It has become a place where three generations of the family work together. The family exists for the development of the company. As a most precious child of our founder Mehmet Kayhan, our family company will ensure that the family members, shareholders and employees lead a comfortable and happy life while maintaining its existence. Every job done, every decision taken is for the benefit and longevity of our company. In order to show our determination in this direction, it was decided to improve and revise our current family constitution. It will be a major milestone in transferring our company to future generations.

In this direction we, as a company, started operating a solar array with 2 MW of installed solar capacity, by laying about 15.000 m²of solar panels on the roof of our entire factory building. Our investment covers our own needs and even contributes the excess to Konya’s power grid. Thanks to our 2080 kWp rooftop solar array, a total of 2,100 tons of CO2 emission per year will be prevented every year.

Kayahan brand has also become the leading company of the sector in adapting to the digitalizing world. Our company has also thought of protecting its own design technical drawings in this way and minted its first NFT. NFT prepared technical drawing is the technical drawing of the 3000-ton hydraulic press cylinder produced by Kayahan for Hidromode. Kayahan will now prepare the NFT of the technical drawings delivered to the customer for the protection of intellectual property rights. Technical drawings can only be sent to third parties by customers holding NFT. The name of our first Token, which was issued to our Company’s Founder Mr. Mehmet Kayhan and Deputy Minister of Industry Mr. Hasan Büyükdede, is “Kayahan 04042021” and indicates the date of its creation. The importance of this date is that this idea emerged on the 91st birthday of our Founder, Mr. Mehmet Kayhan.
